Apart from this, wearing everyday clothes for swimming can lower your performance as the common clothing fabric absorbs water and can slow down the drag of your body.

If you are wearing a cotton swimwear, it will absorb a lot of water and will slow down the drag of your body. Also, the fibers from cotton or any other everyday clothes can clog the filters in the swimming pool.

A good swimwear should be non-absorbent and should have great elasticity.

Lycra is usually used for almost all qualities of swimwear together with some quantity of other fabric such as polyester and elastane.

Spreading and cutting of the fabric for swimwear is the most crucial stage in manufacturing because the fabrics used are highly stretchable and if not handled properly, they may result in bad fitting or shrinkage.

After cutting the fabric, needles and threads are carefully selected for stitching. The threads used are of the same color as of the fabric and stretchable.
